What is Two-Factor authentication (2FA)?

Modified on Mon, 31 Jul 2023 at 09:58 PM

Two-factor authentication is an optional, but recommended feature, which adds an extra layer of security and significantly enhances the security of your account. You might be familiar with two-step verification already i.e. from your online banking services where you are receiving an extra code in order to gain access.

Before enabling two-factor verification in your account settings, you will receive a special 16-digit backup code. It is very important that you write this emergency backup code down and store it somewhere extremely safe. If you ever lose your phone or device, or cannot receive a security code, you will need this backup code for emergency access.
